Simply put you can't wash your hands with lye or an oil, but when you put those together a reaction called saponification starts. After the saponification there is no lye or oil left. I do not add extra glycerin, but glycerin is produced during saponificationQ: Is it vegan?A: Yes, this particular soap is 100% vegan.Q: Does it have any preservatives?A: Per IFRA rules and regulations, bar soap doesn't require any preservatives.
